28-year-old attacking midfielder Eugeneson Lyndoh from Shillong, Meghalaya became the first Indian footballer to be sold for over a crore at the Indian Super League Player Auctions 2015. The central midfielder from the northeast is what many in the footballing world would call a late-bloomer. Starting out for Rangdajied United as a youngster 'Eugene' went on to captain the side at the age of 24. Having finished the 2010-2011 season as the top-scorer and captain of Rangdajied United; Eugene made the move to rivals Shillong Lajong in 2011. Continuing his rich vein of form, Eugene top-scored for Shillong Lajong in his first season at the club. However, after 32 appearances over 2 seasons for Shillong Lajong; Eugene re-signed for Rangdajied United in 2013. In July 2014, after a low-key season with Rangdajied United; Eugene moved to Bangalore with I-League winners Bengaluru FC. In the 2014-2015 season, Eugene made history after scoring in the Durand Cup, the Federation Cup, the I-League and the AFC Champions League; thus becoming the first Indian footballer to score in all 4 competitions in one season. The season only got better for Eugene as he was voted Bengaluru FC Players' Player of the Season and Fans Player of the Season along with bagging the I-League Midfielder of the Year award for his 9 goals and 16 assists. After a breakthrough season in the I-League, Eugeneson Lyndoh was snapped up by FC Pune City to marshall their midfield for ISL 2015.
